Yesterday we planted our baby hazel tree! 🌳 It is a bit late to plant trees (November is the best time) and my Woodland Trust friends will probably tell me off. But I couldn’t bear to leave it in a pot for another year. I’ve been dragging this hazel from rental to rental over the past few years and I’m so happy we can now give it a forever home on our front lawn (a.k.a. future wildflower meadow). #treeplanting #hazeltree #wildlifebloggercrowd
It’s #NationalNestboxWeek! 🐦🏠Here’s our brand new nest box that we put up in our garden a week ago. Garden birds will already be on the lookout for good nesting places for this spring. I’ve seen robins and even kingfishers pairing up though we won’t get any of those in our box. Fingers crossed that some of the local tits or sparrows like our box! 🤞#birdbox #gardenbirds #nesting #wildlifebloggercrowd
Last week I was amazed to see eight little egrets grouped together on the island at Hendre Lake, my local nature patch. Then a few days ago I saw 16 all grouped together in the same spot! I’ve never seen that many little egrets together before. Sadly I didn’t have my camera. So today I returned determined to get a photo. Only nine this time but still I’m happy I managed to capture them! I love egrets, they are gorgeous charismatic birds. And I think this lot look like clouds all huddled up and fluffy! ☁️
